21/05/04 Prizegiving/ Graduation 2003-2004

Today was Prizegiving and Graduation Day. In a ceremony charged with great emotion the Senior Year 2003-2004 graduated today before a combined assembly of Parents and Students. Special guest was Paddy Reynolds, Captain of the Meath Senior Football Team and Past Pupil who presented medals to our U14 North Leinster and Leinster Winners. Senior of the Year went to the College Prefect, Ashton Cooke from Zambia. Runners up were Brian Spenser from Wexford, Kevin Morrison from Sligo, David Sadlier from Skerries, Co. Dublin, Shane Molloy from Donegal,Gary Sinnott from Wicklow, Andrew Grafton from Balbriggan, Co. Dublin and Ciaran Sweetman from Rush, Co.Dublin. Senior Athlete of the Year was Colin Costello, Senior Swimmer of the Year was David Sadlier, Senior Footballer of the Year was Eoin Bollard with a special award going to Shane Molloy who was too old to qualify for the award, Academic Student of the Year was Aine Lee while runner up was Jarlath Phelan. Joseph Murphy and Niamh Lee on behalf of the Matric Charity Committee presented a cheque to Helen Cosgrove representing Temple Street Children's Hospital. The outgoing College Prefects then named and installed their successors for the School Year 2004-2005 they are Joseph Murphy and Ronan Kilgannon. Before the announcement of the Senior of the Year Graduation Scrolls and Past Pupils Ties were presented to all the Senior Year by the Principal and Rector.Tears and hug all around, a sad and happy day for the College As a sign of transfer of power the Matrics have moved to the Senior table in the ref - nothing changes!!
