Social life

Classroom Gathering

Gormanston places strong emphasis on community. All of the structures of the College are designed to cater for student interaction. The life of the College is structured towards communal activity at all levels including worship, meals, sport, social activity and recreation.

School Charity Run

The day is structured carefully to maximise opportunities for all students. The day begins with a short morning study at 8:25am to allow students to prepare for the day ahead. Classes begin at 8:45am and conclude at 3:45pm, with an early finish on Wednesday afternoons at 3:10pm to allow for Clann and other related activities to take place.

College Musical

After classes finish, students have plenty of time to engage in extra-curricular activities. (link to extra-curricular activities sheet) A structured study period with the emphasis on purposeful work begins at 5:45pm and ends at 7:30pm. Day students leave the College at 7:30pm.

College Study Hall

Boarding students continue with further structured study time from 8:30pm until 9:30pm. Supper is available for boarding students at 9:30pm with students getting ready for bed from 10:15pm.

Dining in College

A separate Saturday morning programme is in place for our seven day boarding students. Extra English classes, ICT classes and sport are available to all. An extra grinds program may be available on a Saturday morning. This is dependent on student take-up and a modest fee is charged.
